Dear TimeCamp Users,

As some of you noticed we had a service outage one day ago. The issue with one of our servers was caused by a problem with the hard drive.

We had to reinstall the operating system and import data from the daily backup. However, our database is very large, so it took almost 24 hours to import all the data. We couldn’t enable the site before full import, because of the problem that would occur with inconsistent data.

The problem with the hard drive crash caused us not to be able to back up the data from Monday and Sunday. We are very sorry for this loss.

Thank you for your patience and understating during this outage. To prevent such events in the future we will invest in High Availability server infrastructures and create replications.

Again we are very sorry and make every effort to have this never happen again.

It is a breath of fresh air to see a co-founder stand-up and take responsibility for an issue with their product and service.

This kind of honesty and integrity just makes me want to support you and your team and your products and services that much more.

Far too often, this is not the case with companies of today and in the end no matter what your company is, does and makes it is your character and integrity that shines through in all that you do and make.

Again thanks for your candor, Kamil, and kudos to you and your team and I for one will continue to use TimeCamp knowing you have the customer’s best interests at heart as you continue to earn and validate my trust in you, your team and your growing lists of products, services, new projects available in TimeCamp Labs, and expanding portfolio of TimeCamp Add-ons such as Trello, Basecamp and Pivotal Tracker.
