Writing about salaries and hours worked seems to be a perfect moment to bring up the subject of automatic invoicing. It is a very popular way to make settlements with your principal – it can be your employer if you have a regular job, or your client – for whom you are working as a freelancer.

TimeCamp and its invoicing module (which you can find in “Timesheets” section) provides two types of operations – whether you can create an invoice and fill every field marked with a red frame manually (especially the name of the task and the amount of billable hours) or collect the information about the hours and tasks from already existing projects. You just need to click the “+New Invoice” and then “Based on project hours” and choose a task you are interested in.

If you choose to enter data by “Based on project hours” possibility, TimeCamp will give you 4 options to sum up the time by: people, tasks, projects and time entries. Every summary will show different information on the particular invoice, so just choose the one which is the most suitable for you.

Notice: Remember to tick the “This task is billable by default” option in the specific task in “Projects” section. If the task is not billable, then you won’t be able to put it on the invoice. What is also important in filling the fields – for example the Invoice Number – is that you need to remember about the proper number. TimeCamp always gives you a hint showing which number was the last used, so you don’t need to worry about possible mistakes.

As a person who has a lot to do with invoices, TimeCamp module of invoices seems to be quite easy to use. For me, the biggest advantage is that I can make use of the automatic time tracking and put hours worked straight from the timesheets to the invoice. Moreover, I can send the invoice directly from TimeCamp application via. It is really saving time.

Follow my example, try TimeCamp and save billable minutes on preparing the invoices!
