Project Management tools

To most of us project manager’s work seems familiar with task management, sometimes with people management as well. It’s about using the resources optimally to achieve all the goals. Project managers are still looking for their own solutions and methods to make the management yet easier and there are lots of useful tools on the IT market, created by programmers, graphic designers and editors working together.

There was a long discussion among our employees about best project management tools. We couldn’t choose the only one, so we decided to ask Twitter users about their favourite kind of software. That’s why #TimeCampTalk action has been started!

Project Management Tools: Let People Talk!

That’s the question we have asked people connected with project management:

The number of answer we received was really satisfying, especially because of their professional character. We were also surprised with some funny replies:

In most of the answers we got what we’ve expected.

Asana, Trello and Slack turned out as the most useful project management tools.

People involved in our action mentioned also a lot of impressive offline project management methods and less popular tools.

There were many useful advices for project managers in those answers as well. We must admit that this feedback refreshed our view at project management software!

Most of the users signalized that the choice of project management tool or method is forced by the type of project in and of itself.

Although those answers below seem to be neutral, they are true in fact:

This action was really enlightening to us – we met lots of points of views in all the answers. It’s hard to choose the one and only from project management tools, because most of the people expect something different than the others.

What are the conclusions?

  • Use the mix of tools,
  • Some of the projects need also offline discussions,
  • Try the new solutions, find the right one for your projects,
  • Your mom is your first project manager 😉

As a time tracking software designers we looked over our own data to see which are the most used integration by our customers. Here’s the chart:

Integrations with TimeCamp

It’s easy to see on the chart above that the most popular TimeCamp integrations are Trello, Asana and Podio, but they are not the only ones. If you want to try how they are working together, don’t hesitate and register here!

What is your most favorite project management tool? Maybe you’re using the mix now?

Is there anything that you want to say to the project managers, your own advice?  Why don’t you post it here or write on Twitter with #TimeCampTalk hashtag?

Don’t forget to integrate with TimeCamp and leave your feedback. We can’t wait to read it!

Thanks for including our opinion in the research! As we can see we’re the only ones who make use of Planio. Of course we also use Trello, but it’s not as extensive as Planio or Jira.
