TimeCamp synchronizes tasks and items from your account Slack and adds them to projects in TimeCamp which maintain their current structure. Then, you're able to summarize the time spent on each Slack task in TimeCamp. Note: If you don't have a TimeCamp account, click here to register for a free 14-day trial. Also, you'll need administrator privileges in Slack. If you already have our plugin, update it in the Connected apps of the Settings in your Atlassian account, or just request the update from your administrator.

Below you can find how to enable the integration:

To start the integration, log in to your TimeCamp account go to Settings and navigate to the Integrations bookmark.

Locate Slack on the list of available addons and click the Enable button.

Click the Add to Slack button.

You’ll be redirected Slack and asked to authorize TimeCamp in order to access data from your account. You can decide which channels conversations will allow TimeCamp's notifications. To continue, click on the green Authorize button.

You’ll be redirected back to TimeCamp. All your channels will automatically be imported as tasks for you to track time to them.

You can track time directly in Slack. The available commands are as follows:

/timecamp start [note]

Starts the timer with an optional note. Example message: /timecamp start My pretty note… Response message: Timer started at 13:34

/timecamp stop [note]

Stops the timer. Preserves start timer note. Example: /timecamp stop …ends like this! Response: Timer stopped. It was running for 3s. Response: Timer is not running. Do you want to start it? Use /timecamp start.

/timecamp status [date]

Displays timer status and total time tracked today. Optional date accepts today, yesterday, X days ago, Wednesday, Tuesday, etc. or date in YYYY-MM-DD format. Example: /timecamp status yesterday Response: Timer is running for timecamp-integration – time elapsed: 12s On 2016-03-21 you have a total of 1h 33m tracked.

/timecamp add [duration] [note]

Adds time entry. Provide duration in HH:MM format. Example: /timecamp add 1:15 It’s really awesome! Response: Entry has been added.

To see details about commands, you can always type “/timecamp help” on any channel. For commands to synchronize properly, make sure you’re using the same email address in both TimeCamp and Slack. It's easy to learn these simple commands.

How to enable the TimeCamp and Slack time tracking integration

Here are the steps you need to follow for the TimeCamp and Slack time tracking integration:

Step 1: Enable the integration

You will need administrator's privileges to do this. Log into your TimeCamp account to get started and go to Settings. Go to the Integrations bookmark.

Step 2: Locate Slack and hit the Enable button.

You will see a list of available add-ons. Find Slack and click on the "Enable" button.

Step 3: Add Slack

Hit the "Add to Slack" button.

Step 4: Decide the channel in which you will get TimeCamp notifications

After adding Slack, you must grant TimeCamp authorization to access data from your Slack account. Choose the channel in which you wish to get TimeCamp notifications. Once done, continue by clicking on the green "Authorize" button.

You will be redirected back to TimeCamp. The platform will also import all your channels automatically as tasks so you can track the time spent.

Step 5: Track time in Slack with the available commands

You should be able to track time directly in Slack now. The available commands are:
