Office Humor

It is said that we spent most of our lives at work. A research conducted by Andrew Naber shows that people spend an average of  90,000 hours at work over a lifetime, which makes 1/3 of our lives. It’s not surprising that we can be tired of our work and make everything to make it interfere with our personal lives as little as possible.

However, work is not always distressing and stressful. It can bring joy and even laughter. It carries loads of office humor along those negative situations and it is good to emphasize its importance. Because office humor makes us forget about adverse situations in the workplace, helps to maintain a healthy distance, and, above all, helps us to keep sanity at work.

There are certain situations taking place at work which may be called classis, or even iconic. They happen in every workplace and every employee knows them and can relate to them. In fact, they are so popular that even moviemakers often make fun of them. And that creates a certain satire.

Best Videos About Office Humor

We often don’t notice the humor in situations taking place in the workplace. Luckily, screenwriters, moviemakers, and actors do. 1. Online Communication

Have you ever worked in a place where e-mails, Skype, or other tools were the only form of communication and people barely talked to each other? Whereas e-communication works great for remote employees, it may be uncomfortable in a company where people spend a lot of time with each other.

2. Fire Drill & OSH regulations

How many times a year do you have to participate in OSH regulations training? It is so boring everybody hates it. And still, nobody knows what are the regulations anyway. The iconic tv series Office didn’t save this one. Would you know what to do in case of fire in the office or would you act as Office’s workers? 😉

3. What’s Happening?

Everybody knows the other iconic movie about office work – Office Space with Gary Cole as Bill Lumbergh – the vice president of the company. This one comes from HipChat‘s who “borrowed” the actor with his iconic “What’s happening?” to promote their services.

4. The Password

When the servers are down and in order to log into the company’s computers the password is needed but nobody remembers it. As well as the guys in IT department to ask for help. And so, the inventing begins…

5. Every Day the Worst Day

When you’re about to leave and avoid extra work but your boss manages to get you. And then you have no choice but work these extra hours. It is painful but you’re not the only one. This office humor is shown in the Office Space in a great way.

6. Traffic

We all know how painful it is to drive to work every single day and be stuck in an endless traffic. We all react differently to this inconvenience but the opening scene from Space Office shows it in the best possible way.
