Task TimeCamp with time tracking and project management while talking to your AI Assistant. Track time, get reports, organize projects and tasks, all in plain language as your workday runs.
Tell your assistant what you've been working on – it creates new time entries in your timesheet, assigns them to a project or task, and leaves a description for clarity.
Start and stop timers while working on daily tasks with your AI Assistant. And when your timesheets get messy, just ask it to organize unassigned entries into the right projects.
Create a new project, browse tasks, and add tags to your time entries, so your workspace stays uncluttered even when you can't spare time to keep it tidy.
Ask your AI Assistant to display time insights and summaries to you, based on TimeCamp data. Get them grouped and filtered according to your reporting workflow in TimeCamp.
Not available yet: invoices, timesheet approvals, budgets, billing rates, expenses, attendance and time off. Manage them from TimeCamp web interface.
Connect and authorize the TimeCamp remote MCP server once, over a single MCP endpoint. Works with most common MCP clients, and the setup takes just a minute.
Open Customize in your Claude, go to Connectors, and add a custom connector with the endpoint https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp, then authorize. If you prefer the manual route, add the server to your Claude Desktop configuration file and restart Claude Desktop. In Claude Code, just run claude mcp add timecamp https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp and authorize when prompted. Once connected, just ask Claude to pull data from your TimeCamp account while chatting.
Turn Developer mode (you need admin settings), go to Workspace settings and open plugins. Create a new connection via the endpoint https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp, choose OAuth, sign in to TimeCamp, and publish the app to the workspace. Each new member can then connect their own TimeCamp account. On ChatGPT Pro add the server under Settings/Apps/Advanced Settings, but custom MCP connections can only read data – they can't start timers or change entries. Full MCP support is available on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu on the web.
Go to Settings in Cursor, find the MCP servers section, and then add a new server using the MCP endpoint https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp, then authorize when asked. If you prefer establishing a connection directly, just add the server to Cursor's MCP config file using the same endpoint. Save and restart Cursor or reload the window to update the connection, and authenticate with your TimeCamp account. From then on, you can add time entries, start timers, or get reports without leaving Cursor.
Connect any MCP-compatible client the same way: add the endpoint https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp to that client's MCP configuration and authorize the connection once. In Windsurf, go to MCP settings, and in VS Code (Copilot) just add it to your .vscode/mcp.json file.
For me, the biggest benefit is simple: better operational data leads to better business decisions.
Gives us better control over projects, improves efficiency, and makes client billing and internal planning much easier.
Now you can interact with your TimeCamp data through natural language commands or simply by asking your Agent simple questions. Find usage examples below – a command with a sample question attached.
TimeCamp's MCP server is an official remote MCP server for the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that allows AI assistants to use external tools. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and many other MCP clients (such as Windsurf or Copilot) to your TimeCamp account, so you can create new time entries, log hours, start timers and manage projects, all in natural language. The server URL is https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp.
Yes, TimeCamp's MCP server is free for every TimeCamp user. The only cost is what you already pay for your AI Assistant's own plan, such as Claude or ChatGPT. What you can do and see in the MCP server depends on your TimeCamp account permissions.
TimeCamp lets your AI Assistant:
For example: "Add 2 hours to the GoMe task for yesterday morning."
TimeCamp MCP server hasn't been covering timesheet approvals, invoices, budgets, billing rates, expenses, attendance and time off yet. To manage them, go to the TimeCamp web interface.
Yes, you can ask your assistant for time summaries, e.g. "How many hours did I log per project last week?" and get a report built from your time entries. For more extensive or custom reports, use reporting tools in TimeCamp web interface or Data Export.
You can connect TimeCamp MCP Server to any AI tool that supports a remote MCP server, such as:
If you want to add TimeCamp MCP to Claude Team or Enterprise, first, as an owner, add the connector to the organization, and then each member should connect their own TimeCamp account. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http timecamp https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp, then use /mcp to sign in.
Full MCP client support is available on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu, on the web:
In ChatGPT Pro, go to Settings, turn on developer mode, go to Apps, then Advanced settings, and create the app there. On Pro, custom MCP apps can read data but can't start timers or change entries.
Add https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp as a remote MCP server in your client's settings and sign in to TimeCamp when prompted.
.cursor/mcp.json..vscode/mcp.json.For more detailed instructions, go to the setup guide, which has copy-ready configuration for each client.
No, TimeCamp MCP is a hosted server; you just need to connect via URL and sign in, without anything to install on your computer. If your client only supports local servers, you can bridge it with npx -y mcp-remote https://mcp.timecamp.com/mcp, which needs Node.js. Keep in mind that if a setup asks you to paste a TimeCamp API token, it isn't the current official server.
In Claude, yes, you add a connector on the web interface or in a desktop app, and then you can use this connection in your mobile app. In ChatGPT, custom MCPs are now available only in its web version.
Yes, each user can connect their own AI tool and then sign in with their own TimeCamp account. This way, everyone can see the data their TimeCamp role allows. In Claude Team and Enterprise, the account owner adds a connector to the entire organization. Admins of ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu create and publish the app for the workspace.
Our server uses OAuth with PKCE, the authorization method defined in the MCP specs. It redirects you to TimeCamp's sign-in page, so your login credentials are never shared with your AI applications. The AI Assistant browses and uses data based on your TimeCamp account permissions, so you can see only what you can. Read more on how TimeCamp protects data here: https://www.timecamp.com/security/.
Your AI client can access only the data your TimeCamp account has permissions for, such as time entries, projects, tasks, tags, and people, and if your account has the Computer Activities module enabled, your computer activity. Managers and admins see what their TimeCamp account allows them to see.
Your AI client decides when to ask for approval, so always double-check actions that require editing, deleting, or reassigning data.
When you talk to your AI tools, TimeCamp pulls the data needed to answer, and your AI provider processes the data under its own use terms. TimeCamp doesn't train external models on your data. Check your AI provider's data and training settings, and see TimeCamp's Privacy Policy for how TimeCamp handles your data.
To remove or disconnect TimeCamp in your AI tool:
Once disconnected, the AI Assistant can no longer pull your TimeCamp data.
Log work time, run timers and manage projects while talking to the AI tool you already use.
