Apploye is a time tracker popular among small businesses. It is commonly used as an employee monitoring app for desk, remote, and mobile teams. It works as any other time tracking software—it tracks time, generates reports, and lets managers analyze the team’s productivity and time records.

Apploye at a glance

  • Time tracking and employee monitoring app for remote, hybrid, and in-office teams
  • Combines timers, screenshots, apps and URL tracking, timesheets and basic invoicing
  • Free plan for up to 10 users available, paid plans start at $7 per user per month
  • GPS is available via a separate product, FieldServicely

People seem to praise the tool for its functionality and ease of use, but is it really worth the hype? With Apploye’s 4.7/5-star G2 rating (August 2026) and largely positive feedback, the app seems like a perfect match for time tracking. But let’s analyze Apploye’s core functionalities to see whether it serves its purpose.

Last updated: August 5, 2026 by Ola Rybacka, Product Marketer at TimeCamp. This revision introduced minor corrections for accuracy and clarity to align with the current TimeCamp docs.

What Is Apploye and How Does Apploye Work?

The name Apploye combines the words “app” and “employee,” which at the start shows the app’s purpose: to bring all your employees into one app. And as such, it does work well. Seemingly a robust time tracking app, if you take a closer look and test the tool, from the very beginning, you’ll surely notice the lack of employee GPS tracking with geofence and location tracking (available as a separate product, FieldServicelyor employee scheduling (coming soon though, according to the info on the pricing page).

And it is a crucial disadvantage to mention because Apploye time tracker promotes these functionalities on their website, but in fact, they are not available and nowhere to be found. Consider this when signing up, because you may end up with the wrong tool.

Other than that Apploye is a simple time tracking and employee monitoring platform designed specifically for desk, mobile, and remote employees. In general, it has an intuitive, user-friendly interface with easy-on-the-eye colors.

Apploye allows teams to manage projects, assign tasks, and monitor time spent, facilitating efficient workflow management. Apploye is perfect for freelancers and SMBs looking for cost-effective time tracking software with easy-to-use productivity tools.

Additionally, the platform is modularized to fit the specific needs of each business—from freelancers and contractors, to deskless teams, and in-office teams—which makes it a universal tool for all types of businesses.

Make time tracking effortless

With TimeCamp, you get automatic time tracking, powerful analytics, and smooth integrations – everything you need in one tool, and more than Apploye can offer.

Before choosing a tool, it helps to see how it works in day-to-day use. Read TimeCamp customer reviews and compare that perspective with the feature list.

What are the key features of Apploye?

1. Apploye Time Tracking Feature

With Apploye, you can track time from everywhere; on mac, Windows, and Linux, with mobile app and web app, or insert manual time entries. You can also track time with browser extension. To track time automatically, you’ll need Apploye’s desktop app, otherwise, you will have to track time manually with the web app.

You get 5 types of timesheet views: daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and custom.

Apploye enables adding time manually, however, user needs to provide a reason behind the manual input (author’s screenshot)

Admins can allow for manual data entry, and can also create a weekly limit for hours—once employees reach the limit, they won’t be able to track time. There are also timesheet approvals to ensure accurate time tracking.

Other time tracking features include one-click clock-in/outs that are automatically calculated, Pomodoro timers, time entry notes, idle time detection and offline time tracking (you’ll need the desktop app for that).

You can also use the optional employee monitoring (you’ll also need the appropriate plan) with random screenshots of remote employees (to view apps and URLs) at ten-minute intervals. It helps to understand what they’re working on and spot problems.

2. Apploye Reporting and Analytics

In the Apploye dashboard, you will find a brief summary of what’s happening with top performers, total hours, an overview of timesheets, activity, and general information with time and activity report.

Apployee time tracker does not offer advanced reporting. Reports are short and summarized with no grnaular data. You can export as PDF and Excel format, and a summarized weekly report is send to the admin periodically. There’s also the live feed showing who’s working on what with the project summary containing the main information about tracked data.

Apps usage and URL usage are also available in reports for remote tracking of employee work.

And you get classical timesheets with employee, project, and time data.

3. Apploye Project and Team Management

In Apploye, you get very basic project and task management. Project managers create projects, and employees can create tasks under projects. And you can add billings and hours—project billing and project budget to projects.

The Projects dashboard shows all project-related data in a single view. (author’s screenshot)

You can also create teams, add and manage clients with basic information, and use the info to create invoices quickly based on the spent hours and set project hourly rates.

What is more, you can add multiple organizations to add even more hierarchy to your projects.

Who Should Use Apploye?

Apploye time tracker is a rather simple app that offers accurate tracking. Because it doesn’t offer additional advanced functionalities, it will not work for all industries. Here’s who will benefit most:

  • Remote teams struggling with accountability and time management that want to improve performance.

  • Freelancers and consultants who need accurate client billing and a simple platform for project tracking.

  • Project managers overseeing multiple team members and deadlines to manage tasks in a simple way and to track progress for ongoing tasks.

  • Small to medium businesses with hybrid work arrangements to bring everyone into one place.

  • Agencies managing client projects and billable hours, especially digital agencies working with multiple clients on multiple projects.

Apploye will be most suitable for those who need to track time spent on different client projects, monitor attendance status of remote teams, monitor billable time, and get monthly reports on project performance.

It will not be suitable if you’re looking for a project management app to manage complex projects, payroll, HR, and finances.

How much does Apploye cost in 2026?

Apploye offers affordable pricing that consists of four plans:

What Apps Work with Apploye? Apploye Integrations in 2026

Third-party integrations allow you to track time for other apps and tools and bring all data into one place for multiple admin access. Since Apploye doesn’t connect with many tools, you may find it difficult to embed the app into your current workflow.

Apploye’s integrations cover the essentials. (author’s screenshot)

Basically, you can connect Apploye with several of the most popular project management tools: Asana, ClickUp, Trello, and Jira. There are no payroll or HR integrations, nor collaboration tools accessibility.

This gives you very limited options for integrating Apploye into your system.

Worried Apploye won't fit your stack?

TimeCamp connects natively to your project, invoicing, and calendar tools, plus more via the browser extension, so tracked time flows between the tools you already use.
