Everhour is a popular time tracking tool among freelancers and small businesses. Browsing Everhour’s reviews on G2 (as of August 2026), I noticed that users praise it for its integrations (e.g., Asana, Clickup, Basecamp, or GitHub) and a browser extension that puts a timer into other tools.

Everhour at a glance:

  • Time tracker with project timers and timecards
  • One-click clock-in/out
  • Variety of integrations
  • Project-based invoicing
  • Reports and pivot table for custom analytics

What is Everhour and how does it work in 2026?

The tool helps project managers bring all teams into one place, track time to projects, manage attendance, and improve billing. Let’s see how Everhour works and what it offers. While Everhour may not lead in user base size compared to some competitors, its targeted features and integrations make it a compelling choice for freelancers, small and (sometimes) mid-sized businesses seeking efficient time tracking solutions.

G2: 4.7/5 ⭐ (August 2026)

Capterra: 4.7/5 ⭐ (August 2026)

a screenshot of hero section of everhour website for a blog post about what is everhour

Everhour’s hero claims the company will soon release an AI tracker (author’s screenshot, August 2026).

Everhour’s main advantage is strong integrations with other project management tools. These help track time for all tasks and activities, ensure all team members meet their deadlines, ensure hours are effectively tracked, and prevent money leaks. With its visual interface, Everhour helps users quickly understand who is working on each task and manage resources more efficiently.

However, be carefulEverhour does not offer an automatic time tracker, even though it has a desktop app. There are no automatic clock-ins/outs and no activity tracking. You need to start the timer manually. And if you forget to turn it off, it’ll keep running.

Right from the very beginning, this is a major drawback. Why? Because you need to pay closer attention to time tracking data accuracy and ensure there are no errors.

Nevertheless, users praise Everhour for its simplicity and ease of use, with an average rating of 4.7/5 stars (as of August 2026).

What is more, Everhour offers a separate product for shift scheduling called “Shifts”. You can use it to plan employee shifts to improve team efficiency.

What are the key features of Everhour in 2o26?

Everhour is one of the most popular time tracking tools for teams. It’s built on four main pillars

  1. Time tracking based on timers and timecards.
  2. Time reporting with a pivot table.
  3. Billable hours tracking and client invoicing.
  4. Project and team management.

How does time tracking work in Everhour?

In Everhour, time tracking works via the web app or browser extension. Or with the native macOS desktop app. This, however, can be challenging for users who value automated solutions. You only get a simple start/stop one-click timer.

Everhour’s timesheet syncs with a desktop app and also allows me to add time manually. Important: check time display in your settings to avoid being surprised by an automatic time conversion (author’s screenshot, August 2026).

You can manually add time to timesheets, including backdated entries, which is a great advantage if you or your team members forgot to track time. Prevent employees from editing their old time entries or adding new entries to past dates or archived projects.

Additionally, you can set time estimates and work hours, have the timer stop automatically at the end of the day, and approve timesheets.

The Everhour desktop app also captures screenshots (an optional feature). And don’t forget to turn off your timer when you are finished working.

What reports does Everhour offer?

As of August 2026, Everhour offers 7 types of pre-built reports:

  • Projects Budget
  • Projects Costing
  • Team Hours
  • Billability vs. Utilization
  • Payroll
  • Clients Profitability
  • Resource Planner

Besides report templates, I’ve noticed an easy-to-use drag-and-drop pivot table, where users choose from many variables to build a report from scratch, based on their custom needs (author’s screenshot, August 2026).

Everhour reports focus less on team productivity than on overall time spent across projects and tracked billable hours (available only in the paid plan). You get very functional reports with many visuals.

The main dashboard gives you insight into teams working on specific projects, with distinctions between all, active, and archived projects; time period (with weekly, daily, monthly, and yearly views); and performance metrics (time, billable amount, costs, profit, and loss). Team timesheets show time entries tracked to all tasks.

Reporting and analytics in Everhour are straightforward, with no complex calculations, but with visually appealing styling.

3. How does billing and invoicing work in Everhour?

Everhour allows you to settle each billing period and create each invoice based on tracked time. You can also track expenses and monitor billable hours (but this feature is only available in the paid version).

a screenshot of invoicing wizard in everhour

Everhour’s invoicing wizard is pretty straightforward; however, the options are quite limited, e.g., there’s no place to apply a tax (author’s screenshot).

Beyond time tracking, Everhour supports budgeting and project oversight. You can set either a fixed-fee budget (a single total budget for the entire project) or a recurring budget (which resets weekly, monthly, or quarterly). This flexibility makes Everhour particularly useful for agencies and consultants juggling both short-term projects and long-term client relationships.

Users praise Everhour for its native hours-to-invoice feature.

The reports section is awesome for invoicing clients, and also to know when to charge more.

How does Everhour handle project management and teams?

Everhour is an easily accessible platform for all team members and project managers. Not only can you bring your whole business into the tool, but you can also organize all your projects to ensure smooth task management.

a screenshot of resource planning feature in everhour

An important part of Everhour is resource planning, which allows me to book my fictional employees for specific tasks within a specified timeframe (author’s screenshot, August 2026)

Manual project setup is quick and easy; you create a project, add tasks, and can start tracking time.  There are a few project templates for standard use cases such as content planning, product roadmap, or CRM.

Moreover, the “Documents” section serves as a knowledge base where you can place all the important information about your business, policies, and other crucial aspects. This helps keep everyone informed and on the same page, with easy access to information and up-to-date data.

Who is Everhour for?

Since Everhour offers features specific to team management, it will be most suitable for:

  • Freelancers who bill by the hour and need detailed invoices. Note that you will need to subscribe to access the billable hours tracking feature!
  • Agencies and consultancies managing multiple clients and projects.
  • Remote teams who need a centralized time tracking and reporting system.
  • Industries like IT, software development teams, creative services, and consulting, where accurate time data directly impacts profitability.

Everhour may not be suitable for large enterprises or businesses that need to manage more advanced aspects of a company, such as complex workflows, HR, advanced budgeting with invoicing and payroll, and leave and attendance management. Some organizations need to strictly adhere to industry standards and Everhour does not support that kind of demanding environment.

Overall, Everhour is more of a collaborative platform that unites all team efforts and is best suited to more flexible teams.

However, if you have a small team of fewer than 5 members, the advanced features included in the Team plan will cost more than they generate in profit (available for teams of min. 5 users).

How much does Everhour cost in 2026?

As of August 2026, Everhour is free for teams of up to 5 users. The Free plan includes basic time tracking, projects and tasks, basic reports, and the ability to export data.

The Team plan costs $8.50 (annually) or $10 (monthly) per user/month, and is available for teams of a minimum of 5 seats. Subscribing to Team gives you access to all Everhour’s premium features, such as:

  • Billing, budgeting and invoicing,
  • Integrations,
  • Approvals,
  • Time off,
  • Expenses,
  • Advanced permissions.

The Custom plan is recommended for larger teams; contact their sales team to request a quote. It includes personalized demos, priority support with faster response times, and a dedicated account manager. Volume discounts apply.

To integrate Everhour with other tools, choose a native connection or install a Chrome extension (author’s screenshot, August 2026).

Integrations are one of Everhour’s strengths; however, users often notice that their depth is quite uneven, for example, task-to-project mapping after import:

Everhour’s Basecamp integration needs to be more cross-referenced and more robust for task-to-project integration.

G2, Verified User in Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market, 4/5 ⭐ (1.8.2026)

Everhour also offers a Chrome extension that embeds a timer in the most popular project management tools.

Important: Integrating Everhour with other tools during the free trial requires moving to a paid plan once the trial ends.

How to start using Everhour in 2026?

In “Settings”, you can configure personal and team data. This allows you to set up basic preferences and projects, and other settings such as optional screenshots. Frequently Asked Questions About Everhour

Is Everhour free?

Everhour offers a free plan, but it’s limited to only 5 users and does not allow you to track billable time. This may be a great disadvantage, especially if you need a system to bill your clients and issue invoices.

How secure is Everhour?

Everhour uses enterprise-grade security measures, including SSL encryption, regular security audits, and GDPR compliance. Data is stored on secure servers with regular backups.

Can Everhour be used offline?

Everhour doesn’t offer offline time-tracking capabilities, especially since it is a cloud-based time tracker with an in-browser interface. To track time offline, you can try TimeCamp.

What are apps similar to Everhour?

Depending on your needs, you can choose from tools such as other time trackers like TimeCamp, Harvest or Clockify (scroll up to see our short recommendations for the best Everhour alternatives), team management apps like ADP Workforce or Calamari, accounting software, or HR and work scheduling tools.

Is Everhour a right fit for your team?

Everhour is an online timesheet platform with advanced features for managing your team. It is an ideal solution for teams that want to organize projects and track time to them in a simple way. Everhour seems like a straightforward solution because of its simple interface, but it can be a bit overwhelming when you have multiple projects.

Would we use it? Yes, if we wanted something simple to manage employee time and organize a team without additional fluff. However, it lacks many important functionalities:

  • No automatic time tracking makes timesheets much less reliable and error-prone.
  • The reporting formats are somewhat fixed, and you can’t always tweak the interface to match your team’s specific workflow preferences.
  • No tags or more hierarchical distinction of projects and tasks, and no categorization of work.
  • Limited project management capabilities.
  • The mobile experience, while functional, doesn’t quite match the desktop version’s capabilities. Some advanced features are missing, and the interface can feel cramped on smaller screens. If your team lives on mobile devices, this might be a dealbreaker.
  • Users report issues with reporting and timesheets.

To sum it all up, Everhour is best for simple hours tracking and basic team management to monitor team’s time. However, for more demanding clients with multiple projects or complex projects, employees paid based on hourly rates as well as flat rates, Everhour may not be enough. Users praise it for a good connection with Asana, so it will work best as an addition to Asana project management tool.
