Everhour’s 4.7/5 rating on G2 looks promising, but what’s behind that score? Before paying for another subscription, it’s worth seeing where the software earns its place in daily work and what could slow your team down.

User reviews give us specific examples of easier time entry and reports used to price upcoming work. They also reveal frustrations with exports and the cost of a five-seat minimum. I’ve compared those experiences with Everhour’s current features to separate older complaints from limitations that remain in 2026. Here’s what that means for your team’s setup and whether the subscription is worth the cost.

How do we review software in TimeCamp?

A human is behind every word posted here. Our team spends real hours testing software and checking product claims against current documentation.

We’ve been writing about SaaS for 10+ years, and many of us use the tools we cover in our own work. We approach each product from the perspective of a potential customer, paying attention to what works in practice and where the limits start to show. Our rule stays simple: do not cover without a source.

For this Everhour review, we verified pricing and plan restrictions against official documentation. Every quoted review includes the contributor’s displayed name or nickname, the platform, and its publication date. We also compared older complaints with current product information.

The article quotes 23 attributed reviews published between May 2019 and May 2026, checked in October 2026. Recurring themes inform the recommendations; individual complaints remain tied to the reviewer who reported them.

We revisit our reviews whenever notable features or pricing change, at least once per quarter.

How I tested this product

In October 2026, I opened an Everhour trial account. It provides 14 days to explore all features, with no credit card required. I created a fictional client project and tracked sample tasks to follow recorded hours through the web app.

I prepared a draft invoice from those records and confirmed that an enabled budget restriction stopped the timer and triggered an email notification. For the five-seat minimum, I reviewed the subscription terms and calculated the cost for a smaller team. Mobile features and external integrations were assessed through documentation and user feedback.

Key takeaways about Everhour in 2026

  • User feedback is positive overall. Uncomplicated setup is a recurring strength, with reservations about subscription costs and parts of the reporting workflow.

  • Everhour integrates with Asana, Trello, and Jira. Embedded timers let team members track time spent on existing project tasks, although browser requirements and synchronization cause friction in some setups.

  • Reports support client estimates and billing. Users draw on recorded project hours to price future work; exports are available in CSV, XLSX, or PDF.

  • Everhour lets teams generate invoices directly from billable hours and expenses. Saved invoices for clients managed in Everhour can be sent by email from the app.

  • Agencies working in popular project management tools are a strong match. Small teams face a five-seat Team minimum, and the free plan excludes integrations.

  • Android is now supported; offline functionality remains limited. The current mobile app and macOS timer require an internet connection. Several mobile complaints predate the February 2026 update.

  • Consider another tracker if offline work or frequent timer corrections shape your day. Use the reviews to choose what to test, then weigh the results against your own workload.

What do users like about Everhour?

Logging hours inside an existing project tool is a recurring reason users stick with Everhour. Client billing gives those records a practical purpose, and several reviews connect them with better estimates for upcoming work.

What makes everyday time tracking easy?

Getting started didn’t involve much of a learning curve for Matt or Kaushik. Setup went smoothly with Asana already in place, and the user interface earned positive feedback for being uncomplicated. Sebastian’s team appreciated browser access, keeping everyday use centered on the web app.

Everhour also supports manual hour entries against a particular task and inline edits on the Time page. These options give team members a way to fill in missed hours or correct a recorded duration directly in the browser. Embedded controls inside Asana require the browser extension, so that setup includes an installation step.

I like the simplicity of the interface.

Sebastian T. – G2 – April 29, 2026 – Incentivized review

The initial setup was very easy.

Matt S. – G2 – March 30, 2026

Matt S., a COO at a small business, gave Everhour 5/5 on G2 for its seamless Asana integration, responsive support, and an initial setup that was very easy. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

Simple and ease of use, not complicated at all

Kaushik S. – Capterra – December 24, 2024

Why do teams value the project management integrations?

Tracking freelancer hours through Basecamp gives Mandy a way to see how much time each project takes. For a team coordinating contractors, that ties their logged hours to the assignments already on the board. Marlon’s review brings in the developer’s perspective: with several projects competing for attention, the Asana connection helps keep his entries organized around specific tasks.

…it integrates with my project management software.

Mandy M. – G2 – May 2, 2026

a screenshot of mandy m.'s 5-star g2 review of everhour

Mandy M. rated Everhour 5/5 on G2 for effortless tracking inside Basecamp, though her only complaint is that pricing can get up there. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

…allowing integration with project boards such as Asana.

Marlon L. – Capterra – August 6, 2025 – Incentivized review

ClickUp follows a similar approach: embedded controls let team members record hours inside their existing tasks. Those entries feed into Everhour’s reporting functionality, with ClickUp fields available as report columns. Reporting stays in Everhour; the logged hours aren’t currently included in ClickUp’s own reports.

How do reviewers use reports to estimate client work?

Recorded hours help reviewers check their estimates against the time spent delivering the work. Comparing planned and actual hours in Basecamp helped Laura price implementation projects more accurately and catch overruns. An older TrustRadius review from Rui connects detailed client reports with a similar benefit: checking whether the team’s estimates held up in practice.

…more accurately quote implementation projects and quickly view and address areas of overage.

Laura G. – G2 – June 10, 2024

a screenshot of laura g.'s 4.5-star g2 review of everhour

Laura G. gave Everhour 4.5/5 on G2, calling it a game changer for comparing estimated and actual task time in Basecamp. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

Help understand if our estimates are accurate.

Rui Rodrigues – TrustRadius – May 12, 2020

Everhour lets teams create custom reports for a selected date range, filtering results by project, client, or team member. Task tags and custom fields help narrow the selection, and reports export to CSV, XLSX, or PDF. When preparing a proposal, an agency can look back at comparable engagements and spot where past estimates fell short.

What do users appreciate about budgeting and invoicing?

Time logs play a direct role in budgeting and client billing. For R&D analyst Laban, those entries serve as a baseline for estimating time and budgets on future work. Over on the agency side, CEO Joel connects work managed in Asana with invoicing in Xero. Keeping task titles attached to the recorded hours cuts out manual copying and makes individual charges easier to trace.

…accurately estimate time and budgets.

Laban N. – Capterra – April 1, 2024

…Xero, where we bill all of our clients and pay our contractors.

Joel S. – G2 – March 19, 2024

Everhour’s invoicing workflow brings uninvoiced billable hours and selected expenses into a draft invoice. Hourly charges use the configured project or member rates, excluding tasks marked non-billable.

Budget alerts cover an earlier stage of the job, notifying selected admins when spending reaches a chosen percentage of the allowance. When a client pays a fixed fee, that warning gives the team a reason to review remaining work and its potential effect on project profitability.

Track without starting timers

TimeCamp includes automatic desktop tracking, so your team relies less on remembering to press start.

How does Everhour help teams assess workload?

For Georgia’s remote team, logged hours helped compare individual workloads and spot tasks that took longer than expected. Gantt charts stood out in Njeru’s review for making project timelines easier to follow visually.

…great visualization tools including Gantt charts…

Njeru M. – Capterra – April 8, 2024

We could easily assess work loads for each individual remote worker…

Georgia M. – Capterra – June 1, 2023

Everhour’s Timeline, available on Team, groups assignments by member or project. Turn on the daily planning view, and estimated hours appear against each person’s configured capacity. Project managers can spot overlapping commitments and check remaining capacity before assigning more work.

Do reviewers find expense and time-off tracking useful?

Logging costs against projects helped Luis connect budget tracking with client invoicing. Leave records served a different purpose in Claudia’s office: keeping track of absence types alongside regular working hours.

…account for expenses by concept and project…

Luis R. – G2 – April 29, 2021

You can also track time off and select if those are holidays, sick leave, paid or unpaid time.

Claudia P. – G2 – November 23, 2021 – Incentivized review

I also checked that Everhour’s expense tracking supports receipt attachments and that admins can configure time-off types. With approvals enabled, team members submit time off requests for an administrator to review. Expenses and leave came up less frequently in the reviews I read, so I’d treat them as supporting features when weighing up the product.

What do users complain about in Everhour?

Extra steps around integrated tasks and the cost of a small paid team come up in critical feedback. Mobile complaints span different versions of the app, including older reviews published before Android support arrived in February 2026.

Where do integrations add extra work?

Logging a quick client email took an extra step in Alex’s Asana setup: creating a task to assign the time to. Browser dependence came up in DJ’s review too, despite an otherwise positive assessment of the integrations. Even in John’s favorable review, the Chrome extension sometimes failed to find an Asana task.

…cannot be attributed to a project until first created in asana.

Alex H. – Capterra – November 11, 2024

a screenshot of alex h.'s 5-star capterra review of everhour

Alex H. rated Everhour 5/5 on Capterra and finds it easy to use with Asana, but quick tasks can’t be logged until they exist in Asana first. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

…without a Chrome extension…

DJ C. – G2 – October 27, 2024

Sometimes the chrome extension can’t find the asana task.

John vincent M. – Capterra – January 7, 2025

Who feels this most: People logging short activities that aren’t already represented by tasks, or teams expecting the same tight integration inside a native desktop app.

Renamed a task and still seeing the old title? Everhour’s documentation notes that changes to connected projects and tasks sometimes need a manual resync to appear immediately. That provides a troubleshooting step when updated details haven’t come through. Everhour also supports its own native projects, so an external project management tool remains optional.

Why does the paid plan feel expensive for small teams?

Paying for unused seats raises the effective per-person cost for small teams. Price concerns also appear in positive reviews: Mandy gives Everhour 5/5 but questions the subscription cost, and Marlon finds it expensive for a smaller group despite its usefulness in daily work.

pricing can get up there

Mandy M. – G2 – May 2, 2026

The pricing could be quite steep for a smaller team…

Marlon L. – Capterra – August 6, 2025 – Incentivized review

a screenshot of marlon l.'s 5-star capterra review of everhour

Marlon L. gave Everhour 5/5 on Capterra for keeping a developer’s many tasks organized, while warning that pricing can be steep for a smaller team. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

Who feels this most: Freelancers and teams of one to four people that want paid features, particularly integrations.

Team requires at least five paid seats. At $8.50 per seat per month, billed annually, the minimum commitment is $510 a year. Monthly billing costs $10 per seat, starting at $50 a month. A two-person team therefore pays the equivalent of $21.25 per active user per month on an annual subscription.

Free covers up to five users but excludes integrations, a central reason Mandy and Marlon chose the software. Larger organizations can request a quote for Custom, which has a 50-seat minimum.

Skip the empty seats

TimeCamp's free plan covers unlimited users, so a two-person team doesn't pay for seats nobody uses.

What do mobile complaints mean for the current app?

Task search and login caused problems in older App Store reviews. Those comments predate the February 2026 update, when Everhour refreshed its time tracking app and introduced Android support.

…tasks don’t show up on mobile search well…

A 3-star App Store review titled “Barely adequate” points out that the mobile app doesn’t work offline at all. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

Who feels this most: Traveling consultants and on-site staff who depend on their phones or work through unreliable connections.

The current app supports timers and manual entries, with summaries available on mobile too. Full project and client management still requires the web version.

I confirmed during my research that starting or stopping mobile timers and adding hours manually requires an active internet connection. Same goes for the macOS timer. Task search and login deserve a fresh test in the updated release to see whether those older frustrations carry over.

Where do reporting and usability fall short?

Export formatting and dashboard navigation caused frustration for some reviewers. Sebastian wanted cleaner Excel timesheets; Robin found the interface less intuitive than a tracker used previously. Timer delays also appear in an older review from Necat.

…cleaner setup for exporting timesheets into excel files.

Sebastian T. – G2 – April 29, 2026 – Incentivized review

Everhour is not as intuitive as I’d like.

Robin A. – Capterra – January 20, 2025

Sometimes, everhour slowes down, and starting a timer gets slow.

Necat B. – G2 – July 8, 2021

Who feels this most: Teams exporting records for further processing, and people moving from a familiar interface.

I’d pay attention to how much cleanup an exported timesheet needs before sending it to a client. During the trial, running through the exact reporting tasks your team relies on will also reveal how comfortable the dashboard feels.

Necat’s feedback goes back to 2021. Give the timers a quick run-through today to judge current performance yourself.

Is slow support a consistent complaint?

Slow replies frustrated Ben in February 2025. Matt had a better experience the following year, finding help responsive when he needed it.

Their support is slow to respond…

Ben S. – G2 – February 20, 2025

a screenshot of ben s.'s 1.5-star g2 review of everhour

Ben S., a CTO, gave Everhour 1.5/5 on G2: its GitHub integration works well, but he found support slow to respond and the price high. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

…support has been very responsive when needed.

Matt S. – G2 – March 30, 2026

…support was very good.

Trudy – GetApp – March 11, 2024

Who feels this most: Administrators handling an issue that delays timesheet approval or client billing.

Capterra’s 4.7/5 customer service score pretty much checks out when you dig into the reviews. I’d keep Ben’s feedback in mind, though I haven’t seen enough similar complaints to call slow support a pattern.

Who is Everhour a good fit for?

Agencies and consultancies already managing client work in a project tool are Everhour’s clearest audience. I’d put it on the shortlist if your team logs hours against defined tasks and uses those records for billing or future estimates.

Team profile

What they use it for

Why it fits

Agencies billing clients by the hour

Connecting task-level time with invoices

Billable entries provide the basis for invoices, with editable line-item descriptions and amounts.

Consultancies managing project budgets

Comparing planned hours with actual time

Recorded hours help identify overruns and adjust estimates for similar engagements.

Teams already working in Asana, Basecamp, or ClickUp

Recording hours inside their existing tools

Integrated timers keep entries connected to assignments already on the board.

Freelancers and teams of up to five using basic time tracking

Logging hours on Everhour’s own projects

Free includes basic tracking and reports. A weekly timesheet view organizes task hours by day; integrations require a paid plan.

When would I look beyond Everhour?

I’d use these situations to narrow down what to test during the trial. A strong review score won’t resolve a limitation that affects your team’s daily work.

  • Offline and on-site work. Traveling consultants and field staff can’t count on starting or stopping Everhour’s mobile timer when the connection drops. Android is now supported; offline tracking remains unavailable.

  • Paid features for a small team. A two-person agency still pays for five Team seats to access integrations and billing. Work out whether the admin time saved justifies that minimum monthly or annual bill.

  • Frequent timer corrections. Switching between client assignments makes missed starts and stops a practical concern. If correcting entries takes up a noticeable part of the week, include automatic desktop tracking in your evaluation.

  • Tracking independently of a project tool. Everhour supports its own projects, so test that setup directly. Check how easily you can organize client work and prepare the reports you’ll use when there’s no external task board involved.

When TimeCamp is worth considering

For teams hitting Everhour’s five-user Free cap or paying for unused Team seats, TimeCamp offers a free plan for unlimited users. Automatic desktop tracking is included, and you can organize projects directly in the app.

Working through a connection drop? Its mobile app supports offline entries that sync after reconnection. GPS is available on every plan when an administrator enables it and the mobile timer is running; geofencing requires Enterprise.

Billing features depend on the subscription: invoicing starts on Starter, and billable-time tracking starts on Premium. Everhour’s embedded timers and reporting still give agencies a strong reason to choose it, particularly when recorded hours feed directly into client invoicing.

My view: Is Everhour worth adding to your stack?

Testing Everhour in a simulated agency setup showed me why its project management integrations feature so prominently in user feedback. The browser extension made task-level tracking easy in my test. Standalone projects worked too: I created client work for Blue Ridge Ventures and checked billing status and budget progress from the Projects list.

a screenshot of the everhour projects list with hourly billing and budget progress

Client projects with hourly billing and budget progress visible in the Projects list. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

A weekly team timesheet brought the recorded hours together by day. I could check the week’s total from the Home page, then open the details to investigate individual entries.

a screenshot of the everhour home page with a weekly team timesheet

Budget tracking was easy to follow in this small setup. The dashboard showed $22.50 used against a $200 allowance, with $177.50 remaining. That gave me a quick check on spending before preparing the client’s bill.

a screenshot of the everhour projects budget dashboard

Projects Budget dashboard showing the exact amount used and the remaining allowance. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

Moving billable records into a draft invoice took just a few clicks. My test produced a $22.50 charge from 27 minutes at $50 per hour, with the client and project details carried into the editor. Editable line items and a New Line option left room to adjust the bill before saving it.

The budget restriction also kicked in during my test: Everhour stopped the timer and emailed me when further tracking would exceed the project’s limit. With “Disallow overbudget” enabled, that creates a clear checkpoint for approving additional hours. Any work done after the timer stops still needs to be recorded.

a screenshot of a draft everhour invoice for blue ridge ventures

Draft invoice for Blue Ridge Ventures showing the recorded hours, hourly rate, and calculated charge. Author’s screenshot, October 2026.

For me, the subscription earns its place when team members start timers directly inside their project management tool and use those hours for client billing. Five or more paid users make the seat minimum easier to justify. A smaller team has to weigh that convenience against the cost of places nobody will use.

Offline work changes my recommendation. Everhour’s mobile app and macOS timer require an internet connection, so missed hours have to be added after reconnecting. If forgotten starts and stops are the problem you’re trying to solve, I’d test an automatic time tracker alongside it.

Use these reviews to choose what to check during your trial, then judge the results against a normal working day. For a closer look at the product differences, see our TimeCamp vs Everhour comparison.

FAQ

Is Everhour good?

Yes, for teams that want task-based time tracking connected to client billing. Reviews give practical examples of convenient logging and reports used to price work. Check the comments about your specific project tool, though: connections differ in the controls and data they support.

Is Everhour worth it in 2026?

Everhour is worth considering if its integrations save enough admin time to justify the subscription. For fewer than five people, the Team minimum makes that calculation tougher. Run a normal billing cycle through the trial and check how much copying or correction work remains.

What complaints appear in Everhour reviews?

Subscription costs and integration friction recur in the feedback examined. Export formatting and dashboard navigation also attract criticism, with John reporting that the Chrome extension sometimes failed to find Asana tasks. Several mobile complaints concern releases from before the February 2026 update.

Does Everhour have an Android app?

Yes. Android support arrived in February 2026, making older complaints about its absence outdated. Timers and manual entries are available on mobile; full project and client management still requires the web version.

Does Everhour work offline?

No offline tracking is available in Everhour’s current mobile app or macOS timer. Both require an internet connection to control timers and add entries. If reception drops during a client visit, missed hours have to be entered after reconnecting.

Is Everhour free, and what does the free plan include?

Yes, Free supports up to five users and includes basic time tracking with built-in projects, reports, and exports. Integrations require a paid subscription. If you connect one during the trial, moving to Free involves contacting the support team to remove the integration and its synchronized data.

Does Everhour work independently of a project management tool?

Yes. Everhour supports its own projects and tasks, so Asana or Basecamp isn’t required. For connected tools, the Chrome extension embeds timers inside supported web apps, allowing users to record hours directly against existing assignments.

For the product basics and plan details, see our guide to what Everhour does.

Can I enter hours for several tasks in one place?

Yes. Everhour’s weekly Timesheet grid lets users add and edit hours across multiple task rows and days. Existing entries also support bulk actions for reassignment or deletion, which helps when several records need the same correction.

What reporting options does Everhour offer?

Everhour supports daily, weekly, and monthly summaries through configurable reports, with scheduled email delivery available for saved configurations. It also publishes seven sample report setups, including monthly timesheets and sprint reviews. The Timesheet report layout works like a pivot table, organizing logged hours against selected fields. Filters and column settings let teams tailor the results to specific clients or projects.

Can Everhour include expenses in client invoices?

Yes. Everhour’s expense tracking connects project costs with invoicing, allowing billable expenses to appear as separate line items alongside recorded hours. An administrator marks the relevant costs as billable and selects expenses when creating the invoice. Descriptions and grouping settings are customizable.

Does Everhour take screenshots?

Yes, through an optional Team-plan feature enabled by an administrator for selected members. Capture requires a separate installed app and the necessary permissions. Browser and mobile access alone won’t take screenshots.

Where can I find alternatives to Everhour?

See our Everhour alternatives guide for replacements suited to different tracking requirements. Compare options against the reason you’re switching, such as offline access or automatic desktop tracking.

Keep tracking offline

TimeCamp's mobile app supports offline entries that sync once you reconnect, and the free plan covers unlimited users.
