TimeCamp day by day – #starter 4

If you want to work effectively and save precious time, you need to start planning your workday. Especially, planning tasks that need to be done.

If you do so, you know exactly what you have to do, what the main task is, how it is divided to smaller tasks and how those tasks are connected with each other. Everything is much more easier and more clear than working without any plan. It also has a big influence on time. When you don’t organize anything, your actions are chaotic and then it is obvious that you lose many billable minutes. So why don’t try a tasks tree in TimeCamp?

Creating the tasks tree is very simple. Everything you need is in the “Projects” section. Open it and then choose whether you want to create a new task and project or edit already existing one.

If you decide to create a new task just type the name (in “+Add new project or task…” field) and then click “Attach to a project…”on the right side. In next step you need to choose a proper project from the list and click the green “add” button. You can also move a mouse cursor to the field with name of the project and then click “add subtask”. On the right side of the screen the window, where you need to type the name of the task will show up. At the end, you just need to click “add subtask” button.

Notice: If you don’t have any existing projects, just click “+Add a new project or task” field, type the name of the project and click the green button “+add”.
You can create as many subtasks as you like.

As an example of tasks tree, I created “Settling of payments”, “Statements” and “Creating Financial results”. I attached them to a project named “Accounting” which was created earlier.
Then I added two subtasks to “Settling of payments”“Payments via creditcard and “Payment via paypal. And then another one to “Payment via paypal“Incoming payments” and “Outgoing payments”.
Tasks tree gives me a better opportunity to have all tasks under control and have a more clear vision of “to do” stuff.
